What is the Certified Protection Officer (CPO) testing format?

The Certified Protection Officer (CPO) final examination is an online proctored examination, with a paper-based option.

Exam Questions

Presently the CPO final examination consists of 328 true/false or multiple choice questions.

Time Limit

There is a four (4) hour time limit to this examination.


Being a member of the International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) is not mandatory. Membership is not a prerequisite for enrollment into any of the IFPO programs.

When the candidate is ready to take the final exam, the following will apply:

    • A Proctor Application must be completed and forwarded to IFPO.

    • If the final exam is to be taken online, the login information will be sent by email to the proctor.

    • In the case of a written final exam, the paper exam is mailed to the proctor.

    • The proctor and candidate then arrange a convenient exam date and time that works for them both.

    • Upon completion of the final exam, all the exam paperwork is returned to IFPO for grading; online candidates will see their score upon completing the exam.

How Do I Enroll in a Course

… or, why can’t I find my training?


When training subscriptions have one or more courses included, or you recently purchased a new subscription, you may need to enroll in the course first.

Start Tutorial

This tutorial will step you through self-enrolling in your training content.

Note Training organizations can enable, or disable, basic functionality depending on the organizations training needs. This may result in your screen appearing slightly different than the example screens. Blue boxes provide additional information

Action Click on each vertical tab to self-enroll in a course. Orange boxes will provide actions for you to take.


Click on the Find More Training Tab

When first logged into the training portal, typically you will be on the Enrollments tab of the My Training page.

Clicking on the Find More Training tab will display course titles available to you.

Action Click the Find More Training tab.


Your training will be located in one, or more, folder(s). Each folder may in turn have one or more subfolders.

Action Take a moment to explore your training library.


It is not uncommon for a course to have a number of modules or units.

In the example course, you will notice a number of topics followed by a Post Test. Clicking on these links will display additional information, and allow enrollment.

Action Click on a link to view the additional information.


Enroll in a Course

The course description provides information regarding the selected module or unit.

The tabs above the course description allow quick access to other portions of your training library.

Action Optional: Click the Enroll button to enable a module or unit.


Verify enrollment

A green confirmation message is displayed once a course has been enrolled.

The course is now visible, and available to be launched (or started) on the initial Enrollments tab.

Action Click on the Enrollments tab to view all currently enrolled courses.


Launch your course

The Enrollments tab now displays the newly enrolled course.

Clicking on the course title will launch, or start, the course.

How Do I Change my Password?

Changing your Password

Did you forget your password, and now you can not access your online training?  This tutorial will guide you through the steps needed to pick a new password. Once you request to change your password, an email will be sent to the email that you provided when you registered.

The email will contain a link for you to click on. Clicking on the link will allow you to choose a new password. Tip: This information works for all NexPort Campus users.

The link in the email is only active for 24 hours. If you do not click on the link, your old password will still be usable.

Detailed steps are outlined below. Clicking on any of the images will open that page in a new window.

Quick Start
    • Request Reset
    • Look for the email
    • Click on the link in the email
    • The link is valid for 24 hours


Navigate to your Login page

Just below the area where your Login information is entered, click on the blue “I cannot access my account” link. This will take you to the Help page.

Select the “Reset your password” link.

This will take you to a page that will start the reset process.

Enter your Login information & select the “Continue” button.

Reset password, provide Login name

Enter your system email and select “Continue.”

If the Login was

    • Recognized: You will receive a “success” message. Check the email address that is associated with your account. You will receive instructions explaining how to complete the password reset process. The link contained in the email will only be active for 24 hours.
    • Incorrect: You will see an error message. Please return to the Help page and re-enter your Login name. If you are still not successful, please email Customer Support using the link on the Login page, or call (855) 777-8031.
