Entry Level Protection Officer

The field of security offers diversity, challenges, and rewards. This course addresses the professionalism and public relations skills vital to this field. Also covered are legal authority and liabilities (including the use of reasonable force), arrest and detention procedures, and the factors associated with search and seizure. The purpose, function, and limits of access controls will be explained, including the significance of adhering to established systems in place.

Learners will study the different types of patrols, how to prepare for and conduct patrols, and techniques for critical observation. The importance of note-taking and writing accurate reports will also be covered, as well as First Aid in emergency situations, how to recognize and address levels of consciousness, and how to monitor vital signs.

Typically a learner will complete this course in 9 – 15 hours.
